Eccentric anniversary gift?

My husband purchased this magpie as a gift to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year. In part I think he considered it a way to help me deal with my long-standing (and fairly serious) magpie phobia stemming from a weeks-long and frightening interaction in childhood, with a rather mentally unbalanced magpie on the family property. It actually has helped and this Maggie now sits on our window sill greeting the family of real feathered magpies who carol us morning and evening from outside. Our Maggie is so realistic that she gives visitors a start when they enter the room! But she is also a daily reminder of my husband's sense of humour and our quarter-of-a-century marriage that I'm pretty sure has lasted so well because of it.

The Hansa Magpie I purchased for the students in our Year 4 Classroom is our class Mascot.
It is a beautiful replica of the beloved Australian bird, and the whole class love him.

Bought this magpie for my wife for Xmas… being a keen bird lover she absolutely adored it… only problem was that Maggie looked lonely… and everybody knows that magpies are very social very social so it only made made ensemble to purchase a mate… brilliant craftsmanship National Geographic…!!!
