Disappointing

I bought this Australian Geographic 4K HD Telescope Monocular - 10-30 x Zoom, in case we were out and about and wanted to capture native birds in their habitat when I didn't have my good Nikon Z series camera with zoom lens.
Firstly I had trouble trying to line up the iphone lens with the moncular eye piece. (Note: I have the same iphone as per their advertisement). When it did line up there was still a gap which let light in, even though I had tightened up the adaptor. With the phone attached, the tripod legs do not hold the weight of the monucular telescope and the iphone. I also found it very difficult then when everything was assembled to manually focus the telescope lens. I will probably donate the whole thing to a charity or sell it on Markeplace. Very disappointed.

Hi Ross, thanks for your review. We do recommend removing any phone cases if you are still getting a gap between the phone lens and adapter. You also need to make sure the tripod attachment is done up nice and tight for the larger model phones.

Just adequate

I chose the Australian Geographic product, thinking it would be of high quality. However, the structure is not that sturdy. The monocular is just adequate but paying a bit more for a better quality product would be worth it.

Hi Joan, thanks for your review. It is also possible to use the monocular on a more sturdy tripod. The provided tripod is a compact version perfect for keeping in a backpack on days out without the bulk.
