Australian Geographic Galileo Thermometer
Measure the current temperature with a colourful Galileo thermometer, named after the famous Italian physicist and astronomer, Galileo Galilei. This thermometer is made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid and a series of glass bulbs with different densities. As the temperature increases, the density of the clear liquid decreases causing the bulbs to sink; and vice versa.
Unlike common digital thermometers, this thermometer operates solely based on the laws of physics. There is no need for batteries, and is a fun way to spark curiosity and understand the principles of buoyancy and thermal expansion. Watch the colourful bulbs gracefully rise and fall, creating a captivating visual representation of temperature fluctuations. This thermometer has a range of 18°C to 26°C and makes a great decoration for the home or office.
Size: Thermometer measures 27.5cm."
