About the artist: James Hough

Combining a love for wildlife, photography, and fine art, James Hough creates intricate and lifelike wildlife paintings. Growing up near the Manning River, he draws inspiration from native birds and his family property in Wingham. Now residing near Maitland, James is self-taught and prides himself on detailed, research-driven art. Each painting reflects his dedication to authentic representation, meticulously planned in terms of composition and colour. As a member of Artists for Conservation, James advocates for environmental preservation through his art, often raising funds for conservation organisations. About Aussie Ark

Aussie Ark is NSW’s largest independently owned and operated conservation organisation, and is home to seven keystone species once found in the Barrington Tops of NSW. The vision of Aussie Ark is to establish a robust insurance population of threatened native mammal species such as the Tasmanian devil, eastern quoll and long-nosed potoroo, suitable for semi-wild release into large, predator-proof fenced sanctuaries in the Barrington Tops, for eventual reintroduction to the wild. Aussie Ark is creating a long-term future for Australia’s threatened wildlife.
