Spring into action for the red-tailed phascogale
Despite their small size, red-tailed phascogales are feisty, agile, insectivorous marsupials known for leaping between trees, and for their distinctive rufous-coloured tails. Once widespread, they now survive in just 1 per cent of their former range due to habitat loss, climate change, feral predators and fire.
Ecologists are spearheading a successful conservation effort on the WA Wheatbelt. Wild-to-wild translocations, nest boxes and predator control have helped establish a healthy wild population at Kojonup Reserve, but they need your help.
