description

Please note: this is a bulky item and therefore cannot be shipped internationally.

The Australian Geographic StarView 150EQ telescope is a great no-tool setup telescope for teenagers and adults. The intermediate telescope gives bright clear images of the Moon, planets and some deep sky objects. You can even view the detailed cloud belts of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn.

What can I see?

  • The phases of Venus
  • Lunar craters as little as 3.2km in diameter
  • Dark surface features on Mars
  • Detailed cloud belts of Jupiter
  • The rings of Saturn and subtle cloud belts
  • Many faint comets and brighter asteroids
  • Double stars and stars to 13.1 magnitude
  • Star clusters, nebulae and galaxies with spiral structures
  • Constellation Vulpecula (The Dumbbell Nebula)
  • Constellation Lyra (The Ring Nebula)
  • Constellation Orion (The Great Orion Nebula)

The tripod legs of the 150EQ telescope are pre-installed and connected to the tripod base meaning you can begin viewing the stars and planets almost immediately. The tripod provides a stable platform and includes an accessory tray for conveniently storing your telescope accessories.

The equatorial mount provides smooth, accurate pointing and is designed to move in any direction. The equatorial mount also means that you will be able to track celestial objects, which makes astrophotography easier.

The 150EQ StarView telescope comes with two Plossl eyepieces: 10mm and 20mm. The eyepieces focus the picture seen through the telescope and by interchanging the two you will be able to alter the magnification of your telescope. At a lower magnification, you will have a wider field of view so you can see more objects at once, while a higher magnification will make an object appear larger. Added to this is the included moon filter, which will accentuate lunar features and facilitate more comfortable observations during larger moon phases.

The StarView telescope is accompanied by a Red Dot Finderscope to assist you in navigating the night sky. All of the glass is fully coated to provide a clear, crisp image. This is a great telescope for those interested in astronomy and discovering more about our universe and is perfect for family astronomy nights.

The StarView 150EQ allows the viewer to see beautiful details of objects in our solar system, and opens up the world of deep space viewing and astrophotography. The 150EQ can be used to view craters on the moon, the rings of Saturn, cloud belts on Jupiter and even for viewing star clusters and nebulae. Please Note: Included moon filter compatible only with included eyepieces.
