The Earth's crust and upper part of the mantle are made up of dozens of tectonic plates. These plates are rigid slabs about 100km thick and are moving constantly. Seven of these plates are very large. It is at the boundaries of these plates that most of the Earth's earthquakes and volcanoes occur.
On Shaky Ground teaches you what an earthquake is, how they are measured, where they are most likely to occur. Then takes you back through history to take a look at some the Earth's most powerful earthquakes.
