Each individual painting takes him 2-3 weeks to complete, following a period of research in which he studies photographs and specimens of his subject, completing a series of preliminary sketches before embarking on the final painting. Using a tiny, size 0 paintbrush, Ego skillfully renders the remarkably fine details of fur, father or leaf that are such a distinguishing feature of his work.
