Australian Geographic's Battle for Survival gives the reader an inside look at what different species do to protect themselves from attack from other animals. The book looks at land and sea animals and animals both present and prehistoric. 'Battle for Survival' is one title in an illustrated book series for young readers, which are written to match children's developing reading skills as they get older. This title would be great for children interested in the natural world or as a reference tool for school projects.
Sperm whales are the world's largest toothed predators. They have larger teeth and larger brains than any other animal, and dive deeper in the ocean than any other marine mammal to catch prey as large as the Giant Squid (which can grow to 14m long - that's a lot of calamari!). They can grow to 18 metres long and weigh up to 45 tonnes.
