Make a solid volcano with the mould and plaster provided, then paint and decorate it with lava flow and landscapes. Put baking soda and vinegar into the 'crater' and perform an amazing eruption in front of your friends and family! Your very own volcano will really erupt and bubble frizzy lava. It's an awesome science project and it makes a cool desktop decoration too. The eruption can be performed repeatedly and the fun is unlimited.

What kid (and Dad) doesn't like making things that fizz and errupt? This is one of my favourite science kits, because it's just so exciting and can be re-used over and over! There's a bit of craft involved (making the volcano and painting it) as well as some science (mixing the baking soda and vinegar creating a rush of carbon monoxide) and most of all FUN when the volcano errupts everywhere! My 10 year old brother loves this one, but I think Dad has just as much fun with it. For a cool effect you can add some orange or red food colouring to the 'lava' to make the erruption look more realistic. These are great for any kid aged over 8 and make a fantastic birthday or Christmas present.
